Fascinated by the intensity of Hugo Wolf's extraordinary life, Olivia Manescalchi and Erik Battaglia collected diaries, letters and original documents and turned them into a show in which Wolf himself speaks, through his writings, his Lieder and the unfinished opera Manuel Venegas. The compositions are performed alongside the musical fragments that haunted the composer during his illness: Beethoven's op. 90, Parsifal by his friend-enemy Wagner, Funiculì Funiculà.
